Russell Crowe has spoken out about his friend Nicole Kidman’s relationship with country singer Keith Urban, insisting she is smitten. Russell made his comments following media reports that the oscar-winning actress and New Zealand-born Keith got engaged recently. Russell says, “I’ve spoken to Nicole a couple of times recently and it was clear she’s enjoying great happiness right now. Hanging out with Keith is giving her a lot of joy and I’m happy for her.” However Russell seemed concerned that their relationship could be affected by the speculation, as he himself experienced with his Proof of Life co-star oeg Ryan in 2000. Russell adds, “A relationship under that microscope doesn’t get the chance to evolve. It happened to me some years back. My summer was ruined as we were never left alone.” [14 December 2005]
