Comedian Russell Brand has cited “incompatibility” as the reason why he really split from Katy Perry, likening each other’s differences to those of a crystal meth addict and a pro tennis player.
The Get Him to the Greek star, who is visiting New Zealand in November, made his comments in an episode on Australian current affairs show 60 Minutes.

”Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don’t,” said Russell of his relationship. “But if you sort of sense there’s an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways.”
“I think if you’re someone who’s really into mountain biking, it would be good to go out with someone else who’s into mountain biking, and if you’re really into Eastern mysticism, go out with someone else who is into Eastern mysticism.”

Russell added: “I think if you’re a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a crystal meth addict, you might have trouble… I’ve been in a lot of trouble.”
Insiders say there were other contributing factors to the couple’s split, including Katy’s reluctance to have children. Since announcing their divorce, Katy Perry has begun dating singer John Mayer and Russell has been linked to several women and had a brief fling with Spice Girl Geri Halliwell.
