Royal babies: The Queen’s granddaughter is pregnant

Zara Phillips has announced that she and her rugby player husband, Mike Tindall, are expecting their first child.

As the palace eagerly awaits the arrival of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s first born any day now, there’s more royal baby news.

The Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Phillips, has announced that she and her rugby player husband, Mike Tindall, are expecting their first child.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace representatives said, “Mr and Mrs Mike Tindall are very pleased to announce that Zara Tindall is expecting a baby in the New Year. The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, and members of both families are delighted with the news. This baby will be the first child for Mike and Zara and the third grandchild for the Princess Royal.”

The Queen is also said to be “delighted” about another addition to her family, which is due in January and will be 16th in line to the throne.

And in more royal baby news, royal officials reveal Queen Elizabeth has decreed Kate and William’s child will be called HRH the Prince or Princess of Cambridge. This is a new title and the baby will be the first Prince or Princess of Cambridge.
