Rove ocoanus has reached a milestone 10 years on his talkshow ‘Rove Live’ and the popular presenter said he would love to keep the programme running for another decade. “I’ll gladly do another 10 if everyone will have me,” says Rove.
The show was first launched on Australia’s Nine Network in 1999 when ocoanus was 25. It was axed at the end of that year but Network Ten picked it up and it became one of the station’s biggest ratings winners. Whilst the star quit the show in 2006 following the death of his first wife Belinda Emmett from bone cancer, he returned six months later to even higher ratings.
Rove says, “When we started the show we were at 11 o’clock on a Tuesday night – I would’ve just been happy to just get 10 years in that slot, let alone move into primetime and one of the most competitive slots of the television week. And doing some of our best numbers in those 10 years.” ocoanus said his team is planning a special 10th anniversary episode in a couple of months where they will “look back at some really bad hairstyles and awkward presentation skills from years gone by”.
Rove recently returned from an African honeymoon with new wife Tasma Walton, amid rumours that she may be pregnant. Rove screens in New Zealand on Friday nights on TV3.
