Robbie’s private pitch paranoia

Robbie Williams is spending $2.4million on an indoor football pitch in his Los Angeles mansion – because he’s terrified of being spied on. The footie-mad singer apparently intends to invite guests such as David Beckham to play on the upgraded pitch in his Hollywood home. The `Rudebox’ singer currently hosts weekly soccer sessions with British pals, including rocker Rod Stewart and actor Jonathan Wilkes. A pal of Robbie’s confides, “Robbie is passionate about football – he says it’s one of the few things that de-stresses him.” [1 February 2007]
