Angels singer Robbie Williams has put his £8 million mansion on the market, only a year after purchasing it. The seven-bedroom country mansion is situated in the tiny village of Compton Bassett about an hour from London, and if the locals are to be believed, Robbie moved there in order to spot aliens!
Tennis court, library and acres of parkland aside, Robbie apparently admitted his attraction to the property was the presence of mysterious crop circles and ‘ley lines’ – mystical energy routes that guide UFos to earth.
Says a Compton Bassett local, “He bought the house to be near the crop circle goings-on, thinking that to be spiritual stuff, but he’s probably realized it’s just a load of blokes stamping round the fields at night.”
The former Take That star is apparently so disenchanted at the lack of extra-terrestrial life he’s willing to take up to a £1 million loss on the property, as he prepares to move to LA with his girlfriend, actress Ayda Field.
