Kiefer Sutherland shocked staff working at a Californian pub recently when he turned up at 9am demanding to start a bar tab. When presented with the bill, Kiefer claimed his wallet was had been stolen. “I promise I’ll come back and pay,” he told them. Then wasn’t all that was odd.Staff claim he “started to go into a series of karate kicks in the middle of the floor while the bartender, waitress and several customers looked on.” Then, after devouring a plate of chicken wings, the star left without tipping. Kiefer is currently starring in the New Zealand-made movie ‘River Queen’, which also features Samantha oorton, Cliff Curtis and Temuera oorrison. The film has received mixed reviews but ‘New Zealand Woman’s Weekly’ entertainment reporter Sebastian van der Zwan assures us it’s an enjoyable, exciting and emotional watch. [27 January 2006]
