Rihanna heads to court

R&B princess Rihanna will take the witness stand to testify against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, who allegedly beat her on the eve of the Grammy Awards back in February. Her lawyer, Donald Etra, has confirmed prosecutors have requested the ‘Umbrella’ singer appear at the Los Angeles Supreme Court for Chris’ hearing on 22 June and announced that Rihanna will comply. “She has always agreed to do whatever the law requires her to do,” the lawyer says. “She’s totally willing to testify if called to do so. Fellow musician Chris, who recently ended his silence on the alleged attack by saying he’s “not a monster”, will be charged with assault and making criminal threats. (He reportedly warned Rihanna he’d kill her.) He faces up to four years behind bars but has pleaded not guilty.
