We knew it was serious when he threw her a surprise birthday earlier this year, but Rihanna has only now confirmed that she and LA Dodgers baseball star Matt Kemp are an item.
The 22-year-old ‘Rude Boy’ singer confessed to ‘American Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest, “He’s my boyfriend.” However, the Barbados-born beauty is quick to add, “It’s new, it’s fun and it’s nothing too serious, you know. I don’t want anything that’s going to take up so much of my energy and time right now in a bad way. I just want to have fun and that’s what it’s about.”
Matt will definitely need some patience as Rihanna prepares for her ‘Last Girl on Earth’ tour, which kicks off on 2 July. Also featuring chart-topper Ke$ha, the show will be a “whole roller coaster with five chapters”, according to Riri.
She’s even been taking drumming lessons from Blink-182’s Travis Barker. “It’s so difficult,” Rihanna complains. “It’s a lot of coordination. I thought I had it until I started playing drums. But Travis makes it really clear to understand.”
