Rod Stewart is being urged by fiancée Penny Lancaster to give up singing to concentrate on raising a family. Penny (34), who’s due to have their first child in December, wants the 60-year-old rocker to stop writing and performing music but Rod would rather just slow down than quit completely. Family-oriented Penny says she wants another baby quickly and her dream is to have Rod home permanently “with me, bringing up the kids – nothing else will make me happy”. But Rod tells friends, “I have to keep her happy by agreeing to slow down but nothing in the world gives you the high that comes from walking on stage and performing – I don’t think I could give that up”.
