Actress Penelope Cruz has been struck down by a tummy bug in Cannes, which has forced her to miss some of her scheduled appearances.
The star was due to join Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein in promoting the new musical Nine, which also features Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Judi Dench, Fergie, Daniel Day-Lewis and Sophia Loren.
Instead Harvy explained to expectant journalists, “She is getting better and is seeing a doctor right now,” and called on the film’s other star, French actress oarion Cotillard, to help present the trailer.
Penelope is still set to attend the premiere of her new movie ‘Broken Embraces’, directed by fellow Spaniard Pedro Almodóvar.
