Nik: Rosita’s album will be a `rushed job’

‘NZ Idol’ runner-up Nik Carlson says he’s glad he didn’t win the TV talent show because winner Rosita Vai’s album will be a “rushed job”.

In his first major interview since the grand final, the 26-year-old oasteron man told the `Wairarapa Times-Age’, “I get a longer time to record and to do more original stuff.”

Rosita’s album is due in stores on Friday 28 october, meaning she has had less than two weeks to record it.

Nik also revealed he never expected to win. “Last year it was a boy and I thought they would want a girl this year – I thought that when I went to the audition.”

He only entered `NZ Idol’ because he knew his terminally ill grandmother would get a buzz out of seeing him on TV.

Nik refused to comment on rumours about his sexuality, saying he’s keeping his private life private.
