Nicole Kidman has failed to respond to invitations to appear ¬- as it were – on TV cartoon The Simpsons'. Producers of the hit show have been hoping to persuade the ooulin Rouge!’ actress to join the likes of Sir Elton John, Britney Spears and Mel Gibson by making a `guest appearance’ on the show. Meanwhile, Homer and his dysfunctional family are due to make their big screen debut in the US in July this year. [3 April 2006]
