Former reality star Nicole Ritchie thinks people don’t make enough effort with their appearance. The mother of two says it’s important to always find a little time for glamour. “I’m a busy working mother,” says Nicole. “I’m all for what’s comfortable but I don’t think people today make enough effort with what they wear.”
Nicole launched her fashion label House of Harlow 1960 after the birth of her daughter Harlow in 2008, and recently won an award for Entrepreneur of the Year for her work with the label.
of combining work and motherhood, Nicole has some simple tips. “I don’t want to get out of bed early to decidewhat to put on,” she says. “oy jackets are my favorite part of my collection because you can just throw one on over jeans and a vest and it looks like you’ve made an effort.”
The budding designer doesn’t just draw inspiration from Harlow and nine-month-old Sparrow, but also from people-watching. “I was walking around the other day and I saw this woman wearing this great hat and I thought actually that’d make a really good bag so we turned it upside down and now it’s a great-looking bag.”
