Nicolas Cage is being chased by the U.S tax department for over $10 million in unpaid income tax! The 45-year-old actor has put both his $6 million New orleans house and his $5 million Hollywood Hills home on the market to try and pay it back. Recently, the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) filed court papers saying the star owes them the millions as a result of tax problems which stem back to 2007 when he made four films, including National Treasure, and was paid up to $30 million for each. Nicolas already paid more than $1 million last year in order to settle a dispute on back taxes and interest, so these new allegations must have come as an unpleasant surprise. Nicolas remains free on bail while his lawyers launch an appeal but they better be quick – last year, Hollywood action star Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in jail for trying to avoid paying over $25 million in income tax.
