After failed romances with Abbie Cornish and Reese Witherspoon, actor Ryan Phillippe has announced, “I have a new rule – not to date anyone who has a publicist!”
The ‘Flags of our Fathers’ star was stunned when, after he and Abbie agreed to end their four-year romance, the actress’ rep released a statement saying that she’d dumped Ryan. He says, “Who announces a break-up? I don’t understand that. There’s no need for that.”
Ryan (35) adds, “I’ve been dumped on in the press for relationship stuff since Reese and I divorced. I’m tired of getting sh*t on. I don’t feel like I deserve it. Things happen! How many people have you broken up with over your life?”
The actor says he and ex-wife Reese are “great friends and great co-parents”, sharing custody of Ava (10) and Deacon (6). He reveals that she called him after he split from Abbie in February, while he phoned her when she split from Jake Gyllenhaal back in December 2009.
