Natalie Portman likes to challenge herself

American actress Natalie Portman thrives on adrenalin, although she admits there are some thrill-seeking activities she isn’t prepared to do. ‘The other Boleyn Girl’ leading lady says she loves scuba diving but wouldn’t go as far as free diving without any breathing apparatus. “I have fears, I’m afraid of a lot. I am not a danger seeker but I do like extreme experiences. But not ones that I feel would threaten my life,” she explains. Natalie says she also seeks out roles in her work that provide a thrill, and her latest part in ‘Black Swan’, playing a repressed lesbian, was a challenge she couldn’t turn down. “Work-wise, I try to do things that scare me, because I know they’re going to challenge me. But I didn’t know what I was in for with ‘Black Swan’. I didn’t realise what it was going to be like,” she says. “But the cliche is true, the more you put in, the more you get out.”
