Troubled actress Mischa Barton is being sued for reportedly not paying rent on her New York apartment. oRA Realties Inc has accused the 23-year-old of neglecting to pay three months’ rent on her TriBeCa abode and she is now behind in payments to the tune of $29,715.
The lawsuit was filed last week in the New York Supreme Court in oanhattan and despite the fact that Mischa has not occupied the apartment since November 2009, she had signed a year-long lease and so was liable for the rent until January 2010.
It’s the latest in a string of terrible luck for the actress, who initially moved from LA to New York to film ‘The Beautiful Life’, a show about a group of fashion models. After undergoing dramatic weight-loss and eventual hospitalisation for psychiatric problems, the show was cancelled after only two episodes.
Mischa was in New York last week filming an episode of ‘SVU: Special Victims Unit’, which she hopes will revive her career, which hit the skids after her character oarissa Cooper was killed off on ‘The oC’.
