British TV personality Michael Parkinson has slammed late reality TV star Jade Goody in a recent magazine article. Whilst lamenting the tragedy of Jade’s recent death , Michael stated that it could hardly be compared to the passing of a matyr or “heaven forbid Lady Di”. He said Jade represented “all that’s paltry and wretched about Britain” and her place in the history of television was “nothing to be proud of”. Jade leapt to fame after a stint on ‘Big Brother’ in 2002 and kept in the public eye with various relationships and a controversial turn on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2007. She died of cervical cancer at the age of 27.
