This year, it is girls versus boys – and things are bound to get heated.
Meet this year’s plucky teams. Contestants Dyls and Dylz, Emma and Courtney, Niki and Tiff and Sam and Emmett will go head-to-head in multiple makeover challenges, as well as renovating the four homes in serious need of a do-up.
Hosts Mark Richardson and Shelley Ferguson are back for another year of drama and design and DIY chaos.

Dyls and Dylz
Dyls (27) is a true, blue “Kiwi bloke” – the qualified builder met his girlfriend while he was playing rugby in the UK, but they now live in Mt Maunganui.
Dylz (25) is currently working as his teammate’s apprentice, after packing in his job as a personal trainer.
Emma and Courtney
From Dunedin, friends Emma (27) and Courtney (25) met four years ago and have been inseparable ever since.
Emma has an admin background and Courtney works for a homeware and interior design business, which means they will be tough to beat in the design and budgeting stakes!
Niki and Tiff
Niki (29) and Tiff (35) met when they were bridesmaids for one of their best friends.
Tiff is currently based in Melbourne with her boyfriend of four-and-a-half years where she works as a set dresser and buyer for film and TV, but proudly hails from Wanaka. Niki is based in Christchurch and is a forensic research scientist with a Phd.
Sam and Emmett
This team have been mates since they were at school in Palmerston North. Now, Sam (29) and Emmett (29) flat together in Wellington. Sam is a business development manager and Emmett is an HR advisor.
