He’s an A-List actor and producer now but life wasn’t always roses for Mark Wahlberg. In fact the star of ‘The other Guys’ admits he turned to violence in his youth, because he had no proper role models.
Says Mark (39), “I grew up in a violent neighbourhood, where there was very little money, a lot of drugs.” With his parents divorcing when Mark was 11, he says “I didn’t have anybody else to look up to.”
While still a teenager, Mark eventually ended up in jail for assault and it was then he realized he would need to change his ways. “I woke up and I realized that I’d hurt somebody who didn’t deserve it,” he says. “They were innocent.”
And change he has. The former rapper is now married with four children and in addition to roles in movies from ‘The Departed’ to ‘The Lovely Bones’, Mark also co=produced the TV series ‘Entourage’ which is loosely based his early Hollywood experiences.
