Madonna has spoken out in support of Tom Cruise following recent criticisms over trying to convert his wife Katie Holmes to his controversial Scientology religion. The singer – herself slammed for her following of Kabbalah, the offshoot of Judaism – insists Tom is happy as a Scientologist and that the public should respect that. She says, “I find it very strange that it’s (Scientology) so disturbing to people. It’s not hurting anybody. If it makes Tom Cruise happy, I don’t care if he prays to turtles. And I don’t think anybody else should.” When discussing her love for the Kabbalah, Madonna expresses disgust of critics who label it a ‘cult’. She adds, “The world’s in the cult of celebrity. That’s the irony of it.”
