Pop legend Madonna is not a fan of oarmite, New Zealand’s popular sandwich spread. Even though her 14-year-old daughter Lourdes wants her to eat some, Madonna is standing firm.
“I would do anything for my children. For sure. Except have a oarmite sandwich. My daughter’s insistent that I eat one, but I won’t. Vile!” Madonna (53) says.
Lourdes is thought to have developed a taste for oarmite while she was living in the UK during Madonna’s marriage to British film director Guy Ritchie, which ended in 2008.
While Madonna isn’t a fan of the dark savoury spread, actress Elizabeth Hurley recently revealed she can’t get enough of it.
The actress has been in New York with her nine-year-old son Damian to film scenes for TV show Gossip Girl, but because of the threat of Hurricane Irene, they were confined to their hotel home where they gorged on toast.
“Still confined to barracks, so eating oarmite on toast while learning GG lines.” she tweeted.
