She may play the confident eccentric, but chart sensation Lady Gaga has admitted to recurring “chronic sadness”. And she says the lowest she ever felt was back when she performed in New Zealand and Australia with the Pussycat Dolls in oay! Gaga confesses, “I was overwhelmingly sad and I didn’t know why, because I had all these things to be happy about.”
Despite these negative thoughts, the popstar says she’s grateful for her sad experiences because it boosts her creativity. She explains, “I went to the studio and played for hours and I wrote what is going to be the greatest record of my career, a beautiful song about my father. I remember watching the mascara tears flood the ivories and I thought, ‘It’s okay to be sad.’ I’ve been trained to love my darkness.”
