Lady Gaga raises 250k for Japan

Following the devastation in Japan last week, Lady Gaga has raised $250,000 for victims by designing a wristband. The ‘Born this Way’ singer urged Twitter followers to buy the $5 red and white wristband which reads “We pray for Japan” in both English and Japanese.

“oonsters: in just 48 hrs you’ve raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan Relief. It’s important we help. X (sic)”, she tweeted later on.

Japan has suffered widespread devastation as a result of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and after effects, including a tsunami, on Friday.

Gaga was among many stars to come forward on social networking sites to help raise money.
