During her recent concerts in New Zealand, eccentric chart-topper Lady Gaga raved about her love of drinking. Indeed, some wondered whether her collapse on stage in Auckland had something to do with her alcohol consumption.
Now the ‘Telephone’ singer says she is sure her love of booze with be the death of her. Speaking at a gig in Sweden, Gaga announced, “I know that I work really hard and run myself into the ground. And I also know that alcohol will kill me one day, but I would rather not die on vacation. I’d rather die on stage with all my fans.”
She continues, “You know when people say, ‘Lady Gaga’s really tired; she needs to take a break,’ I just think about all those times I sang in bars when nobody was singing my lyrics. I’ll sleep when I’m dead, okay?”
However, not everyones approves of Gaga’s do-or-die approach. Janet Jackson is just one celebrity who’s spoken out in concern for the 23-year-old. She says, “I really love Gaga. She’s a sweetheart and she’s definitely doing something different, but she works so hard. I told her that I think she needs to slow down just a little bit, take some time out for herself.”
