‘Never Let oe Go’ star Keira Knightley has revealed she seriously considered giving up her acting career three years ago to pursue a more conventional life. The 25-year-old actress, who is one of the highest paid young British actors, said she almost quit at the age of 22, after working without a holiday since she was just 16 years old. “I wasn’t enjoying what I was doing and I felt terribly guilty about that. I remember hating the idea that I was in a privileged position and I couldn’t see the point of any of it,” Keira says. “I didn’t know if I was going to go back to acting at all. For a long time I thought I wouldn’t. I think I intended not to work again.” However, the opportunity to work with fellow British starlet, Carey oulligan, changed her mind. “Carey’s a very good friend of mine and I felt if I was to start making films again, she was someone who would watch my back.”
