We never took him to be a man of distinction, but Alex Reid has shown his true colours by likening his wife Jordan’s son to the Incredible Hulk.
The 34-year-old cross-dressing cage-fighter married Jordan – aka Katie Price – in a trashy Las Vegas ceremony in February, but we guess he hadn’t thought through the realities of having a stepchild with severe disabilities like Harvey, who suffers from a blinding condition called septo-optic dysplasia and severe autism. He also has a disorder that makes him much larger than the average seven-year-old.
Cruel Alex didn’t let this disability hold him back, saying of Harvey, “He’s a heavy dude but he’s going to be about 24 stone [152kg] when he finishes. And six foot four [1.93m] – that’ll be scary, like the Incredible Hulk!” Not stopping there, Alex then pretended to be Harvey, extending his arms like a zombie while yelling, “You hurt mummy.”
A spokesman for Jordan defended Alex’s behaviour, saying, “Alex didn’t mean to cause offence by his comments. They were meant in an endearing manner.” But Jordan’s ex-husband Peter Andre isn’t so sure. He insists, “No matter how flippant the remarks were, they were inappropriate.”
