Former Dior designer John Galliano has been found guilty of anti-semitic and racist behaviour in a Paris court. John was arrested and suspended from Dior after an altercation in a bar in the French capital earlier this year.
He was later fired before apologising for his behaviour, though he “completely” denied some of the claims.
The designer faced charges of “casting public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity”. He was fined $6000 on one count and $3000 on the second charge. Both fines were suspended.
“There will not be any fine to be paid and it is a fair and wise decision by the tribunal. Mr Galliano wants to apologise and he continues his treatment to be cured,” a lawyer for the designer said following the verdict.
