Jodie Foster has admitted that she’ll do anything to give her children a normal childhood because she missed out on one due to her early-starting acting career. The 43-year-old actress, who first hit the screen as a three-year-old, wants her sons Charles (7) and Kit (4) to have as much fun as possible. She says, “I grew up being very aware I was different. That’s why I have a psychological need for Charlie and Kit to have normal childhoods. Just a few weekends ago we spent the whole time with friends who had rented an enormous waterslide. After playing on it all day, my boys were banged-up, plastered with mud and utterly exhausted. They loved it and I loved it. I look back and I didn’t have days like that when I was a child. I was too busy working.” [29 November 2005]
