Jessica Simpson has asked funnyman Dane Cook to be her co-host at the upcoming Teen Choice Awards, sparking rumours of a romance. The `Public Affair’ singer has been romantically linked to Dane since her split from husband Nick Lachey, although she insists they are just good friends. Jessica defends her Awards decision by saying, “I’m glad I’m doing it with Dane because he’s used to the stage. I will be messing up, I’m sure, many times, but he’s good at making it a good thing.” Pre-empting the romance rumours, she adds, “Dane and I are very good friends. He’s an awesome guy. We talk a lot, but I’m not dating anybody.” [25 July 2006]
