The James Bond franchise may never be the same after the iconic line “Shaken, not stirred” is swapped for an over-the-counter beer in the next movie, Skyfall.
Current 007 Daniel Craig will order a Heineken instead of his famous favourite cocktail in a scene in the upcoming film after Heineken USA agreed to a deal to be featured in the movie, according to trade magazine Ad Age.
The 44-year-old actor will also appear in character for a TV commercial for the drinks brand, which will air all over the world. The ad will be created by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam, with Skyfall director Sam Mendes acting as a consultant.
Daniel will also appear as the spy on special packs of the beer.
Heineken USA’s chief marketing officer Lesya Lysyj told Ad Age, “[James Bond] is a perfect fit for us. [He is] the epitome of the man of the world.”
Vodka Martini cocktails have become synonymous with the British secret agent, and he is often seen ordering the drink on screen with the famous line “Shaken, not stirred”.
The phrase was first uttered in the 1964 film Goldfinger by Sean Connery, while the first novel Ian Fleming included it in was 1956’s *Diamonds Are Forever.

Daniel tells a barman how to mix the drink in a scene where he is playing poker in Casino Royale, instructing him to use, “Three measures of Gordon’s; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon”.
Skyfall also stars Javier Bardem as the film’s villain, Dame Judi Dench, who is reprising her role as M, and Naomie Harris as field agent Eve. It is due to be released in October.
