Jermaine Jackson has said he wishes he had died instead of his brother Michael. Jermaine has been left devastated by the passing of his superstar sibling and says the pain of saying goodbye is “unreal”. Talking on US TV, Jermaine said, “I wanted to see Michael and I wanted to see my brother. Seeing him lifeless and breathless was very emotional for me.” Jermaine elaborated that Michael “went too soon. I wish that it was me. I’ve always felt that I was his backbone.” Jermaine also voiced his support for his 79-year-old mother, Katherine, who has been given temporary custody of Michael’s three children, saying, “She’s capable, she’s up for it… My mother is the perfect person to be with them.” For a touching tribute to Michael Jackson, see our next issue of the Weekly.
