Pete Doherty is falling out with his band mates because of girlfriend Kate Moss’s input into their new album. The band is so furious that Pete has started writing the new album with the catwalk queen instead of them that they refused to accompany the singer to the recent NoE awards. “Pete has really pushed the other guys’ buttons this time,” says a source. “They’ve had enough of his obsession with Kate. He keeps calling her his ‘muse’ and she says he’s her ‘inspiration’. The band don’t mind Kate getting up on stage and performing with them the odd time, but writing the album with them is different.” A pal adds, “They are both very excited by the work they’ve done together so far and spend most weekends at Kate’s country home writing lyrics together. They go on long walks in the country so they can clear their heads and often Kate has an idea or comes up with a line and they scribble it down. Kate is mainly helping Pete with the lyrics, though she’s also trying to help with some of the melodies. She keeps saying that modelling is just visual and she is really enjoying using her mind and discovering how to be a poet. She has found the whole experience of being creative with Pete incredibly inspirational. She thinks he’s a brilliant genius of our age.” [15 March 2007]
