Heroes has been cancelled

It had such promising beginnings and made stars out of Hayden Panettiere and Zachary Quinto but now, after four seasons, hit sci-fi series ‘Heroes’ has been cancelled. Network executives cited high production costs and ever-declining ratings as their reasons for pulling the plug.

‘Star Trek’ actor Zachary (32) – who shot to fame in his role as super-powered serial killer Gabriel Gray aka Sylar – reflected on the cancellation of the show, saying, “As much as we have been aware of this possibility for a few weeks, it remains surreal to consider that the decision has been made.”

He continues, “I want to extend myself in a huge swell of gratitude to all of the fans, for investing in the stories we told, for engaging in the characters we created and for standing by us through all the ups and downs of what was at times a rocky road… I will certainly miss most of all the gift of working alongside such talented and inspiring people. It is something I will carry with me everywhere I go from here.”

The creators of ‘Heroes’ have not ruled out the possibility of concluding the show later in the future with a TV special or a movie.
