outrageous English funnyman Russell Brand has been trying to chat up Dame Helen oirren on the set of their new movie, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. The fellow actors had already formed a close bond, with the Gosford Park actress stating, “I heard he fancies me. I fancy Russell too,” so perhaps it came as no surprise when the cheeky comedian offered her a pair of his pre-worn underpants. Russell explains, “on the last day of filming I was running late, so I just shoved on a yellow pair of American Apparel underpants. At the end of filming I rushed back to my dressing room and spotted a black pair and thought I’d change. As I rushed out of the dressing room I came face-to-face with Helen, still holding my dirty pants head high. That’s when I heard my voice saying: ‘Would you like these?’ She took them and said ‘Thank you’. Why? Because she was being polite – because she’s a Dame.”
