The marriage of one of the most famous women in Britain and one of the England’s top soccer stars is over. Sounds like Victoria and David Beckham, huh? But it’s not.
Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, who also judges reality series The X Factor, has announced she is ditching Chelsea Football Club player Ashley over his infidelity. He reportedly cheated on her with five different girls.
Cheryl (26) flew from London to LA to escape media attention after the affairs became public knowledge and spent many late nights in a hotel room with Derek Hough (24), a dancer on the US version of ‘Dancing with the Stars’. However, she insists they’re just close friends and were simply discussing her marriage problems.
Ashley (29) has already moved out of their marital home and a friend reports, “He is devastated and distraught. He is desperate for a reconciliation but knows in his heart he has lost her for good.”
Cheryl and Ashley tied the knot in 2006, but their marriage was rocked by rumours of his infidelity just two years later, when newspapers reported the soccer star sleeping with a young hairdresser.
