Amongst the shows in the firing line are Jennifer Love Hewitt’s supernatural series ‘Ghost Whisperer’, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ comedy series ‘The New Adventures of old Christine’, and police drama ‘Cold Case’.

In the shock announcement, ‘oiami oedical’, ‘Accidentally on Purpose’, ‘Gary Unmarried’ and ‘Numb3rs’ were also announced to be getting the chop. With rising production costs and diminishing viewers, CBS says these shows can no longer be justified.

So what now for the stars left without shows? Jennifer is already rumoured to be starring in a new series, called ‘Love Bites’. Says cast member Greg Grunberg (ex-Heroes),”I end up in a bathroom on a plane with Jennifer Love Hewitt. I can’t tell you what happens, but it’s very funny. She, by the way, is the greatest.”

Meanwhile, other sources are speculating ‘old Christine’ might be picked up by another network, so more adventures may be right around the corner.
