Geri Halliwell – due to give birth any day now – may have her baby joy marred by disappointment that her career plans are falling through. Following her unsuccessful attempt at a solo pop career, the former Spice Girl had planned to break into acting after she becomes a mum. However a series of meetings with TV executives has failed to turn up any offers for the 34-year-old. A source reveals, “Geri lined up meetings with TV execs – and she has had quite a few recently. She’s been pitching her acting credentials and her presenting skills, but she would prefer the acting route. The response, however, has been lukewarm. Geri’s gutted. She doesn’t know what to do once the baby’s born.” Despite taking lessons, Geri’s acting career so far has only consisted of starring in Spice World' and landing a guest role in Sex And The City’. But a friend says, “Geri is still desperate to get into TV and the cash wouldn’t go amiss – she’s going to be a single mum.” [15 oay 2006]
