George Michael slams Wham! reunion

Sorry, die-hard Wham! fans, but George Michael has said “no way” to a reunion of the iconic ’80s pop duo. Both him and Andrew Ridgeley are 46 now and, 20 years after their split, George says it’d be impossible to recapture their edgy appeal.

He explains, “Wham! was about being young and exuberant. You can’t recreate that feeling at a certain age. Andrew and I are still good friends but I’m afraid we’ll never get back together. We both agree on that.”

George believes there was a certain “coolness” they had when they were young, although, looking back, he thinks some of their outfits didn’t give off that vibe. The singer laughs, “When I see myself back then, I cringe mostly! Take the blonde hair. I wanted to have long, blond, straight hair because I didn’t really want to be me. I suppose I could have done without those curtain rings in my ears as well.”
