George Michael

We’ve always had faith that he’d get better and now George Michael has revealed that he secretly checked himself into rehab.

The ‘Freedom’ singer embarked on a detox programme after crashing his car into a shop front in July and is still undergoing drug counseling several times a week.

George writes to his fans, “As usual I am overwhelmed by the support and genuine concern that so many of you around the world have expressed in recent weeks.” He continues, “Personal problems which I had tried to deal with myself had clearly got the better of me, and I am sorry that my pride has prevented me from seeking help before now. “

The problems George refers to are believed to stem from the deaths of his boyfriend Anselmo Feleppa in 1993 and his mother Lesley Angold Harrison in 1997.

The July accident came not longer after the 47-year-old had his licence reinstated. In 2007, George was banned from driving for 24 months after he was found slumped at the wheel of his car in London.
