At first, veteran actor-director Clint Eastwood appears an unusual choice to be sitting in the director’s chair for a Broadway stage show-turned-musical biopic, but as the film delves into the dirty underworld of New Jersey’s crime scene, it becomes clear Clint’s ability to craft tension and drama is perfectly suited for this adaptation. While at times the film feels disjointed, it’s the captivating performances of the Four Seasons that make this a night to remember.
