Jewish extremists have come out in protest, urging Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli not to marry her actor boyfriend, Leonardo DiCaprio, because it would dilute the Jewish race. In a bizarre letter, far-right activist Baruch oarzel, from the group Lehava, reprimanded Leo’s fiancée for her plans to marry someone who’s not Jewish.
He writes, “It is not by chance that you were born Jewish. Your grandmother and her grandmother did not dream that one of their descendants would one day remove the family’s future generations from the Jewish people.” Baruch insists he “has nothing against or DiCaprio, who I have no doubt is a talented actor”, however, “assimilation has forever been one of the enemies of the Jewish people”.
According to the group’s Facebook page, Lehava aims to provide assistance to Jewish girls in relationships. Both Leo and Bar have not commented on the letter but word on the street is that their engagement is still on.
