Everything you need to know about the 2017 Golden Globes

Who's nominated, who will win and how you can watch.

It is award season once more, and the first cab off the rank are the Golden Globe Awards.

On January 9, the mystical Hollywood Foreign Press Association (seriously, who makes up this secret society) will hand out gong after gong to the best and brightest in both film and television for the past 12 months.

Don’t forget to check back later today for all the winners – and losers – and the best of the red carpet fashion, but for now, here’s everything you need to know about the ceremony:

The Host

It feels like almost everyone has hosted the Golden Globes, but this year is on-track to be one of the best ones ever, with popular late night talk show host, Jimmy Fallon running the show. His Tonight Show is always jam-packed with surprising guest stars, and Fallon has already said there might be some surprise appearances on the night.

The Presenters

Expect to see all the stars you love dishing out the gongs. From Ben Affleck to Chris Hemsworth, Leo DiCaprio to Amy Schumer, everyone who is anyone will be up on that stage.

The Winners

Well, of course we don’t know those just yet, but Tinsletown experts have picked the ones to watch this year. On film, we should watch out for a showdown between Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s musical darling, La La Land, which has seven nominations, and Moonlight, the film set in Miami during the “War on drugs”, which has six.

On The Small Screen

The Globes celebrate film AND TV – and what a year in telly it has been. The People Vs. OJ Simpson must be a sure thing to clean up, but you can never underestimate the likes of Game of Thrones or event he new hit, This is Us.

The Food

Attendees will eat Chilean sea bass, filet mignon and mushroom risotto. Because, we know you wanted to know.
