Alex Kingston has confessed that she was so devastated by the end of her marriage to actor Ralph Fiennes, she almost took her own life. The former `ER’ actress admits she had even gone so far as to get into her bathtub with a knife ready to slit her wrists. Alex, who is happily remarried, claims those dark days are now behind her. She says, “I can’t imagine being that person at all. You don’t know where life is going to take you. You think you know and then all of a sudden you realize it’s all completely wrong.” The star married German freelance journalist Florian Haertel in 1998 and they have one daughter, Salome.
