Drew Barrymore signs up for another

She’s starred in the movies and now Drew Barrymore is set to executive produce an update of the original ‘Charlie’s Angels’ TV series. The show – which originally ran from 1976 to 1981 and starred the late Farrah Fawcett – has been through two remake attempts already but these never got off the ground. However, thanks to the success of the two movies, backers tried again and it was a case of third time lucky.

Fans have speculated Cameron Diaz will return for the small-screen version after the embarrassing flop of her latest film. ‘The Box’ tanked in the box office, received a critical mauling and has been branded one of the worst movies in cinema history. “People really thought this was a stinker,” according to theatre-ratings company CinemaScore. However, Cameron has defended the flick, saying, “There is so much about humanity in the script and so much we are trying to understand about who we are as people.”
