Drew Barrymore "practicing for having babies"

Actress Drew Barrymore and her on-off boyfriend Justin Long have adopted a puppy together, apparently in preparation for when they have children.

The ‘Going the Distance’ co-stars are reportedly seeing each other again after Justin supported Drew when her 16-year-old dog Flossie passed away. “He knew how much Flossie meant to her. He was really there for her,” says a close friend.

Now the pair has adopted a seven-month-old puppy, Douglas, together, and are bonding over his care. “Drew jokes that they’re practicing for when they have kids,” says the friend.

In a 2007 interview, Drew said she had started thinking about having children, as many of her friends were becoming parents. “I would definitely like to have a family one day,” she said. “I don’t know when or with who, but I don’t picture myself alone or bitter.”
