Donatella Versace has admitted that she loves playing the diva. The chief Versace designer said that socializing with famous people is all part of the job and that she doesn’t mind as she loves strutting her stuff on the red carpet.
Says Donatella, “It’s a love-hate relationship. I would definitely prefer not to be obliged to attend certain events and parties, but I must.
on the other hand, I have to admit that I do actually enjoy acting up to the ‘diva’ role that I have been allotted – after all, I am a bit of a diva, aren’t I?!” Donatella took over the fashion house Versace after her brother Gianni was killed in 1997 by a crazed fan.
Donatella, 54, admits that despite running Versace for over ten years, she is still terrified about unveiling her new designs, saying “I have to say that presenting a collection to the public has always and still does cause me a certain amount of anxiety. The show is the moment of truth – when you discover whether or not your work is good. When you have done a good job and the public appreciates it, the satisfaction you feel is utterly unique!”
