David Prowse, who played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars movies revealed that he is battling prostate cancer, during a British interview last week. The 73 year old actor said that he was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and that thanks to treatment at the Royal oarsden Hospital in London, he was through the worst.
While Prowse portrayed Darth Vader in all three of the movies, it was American actor James Earl Jones who supplied the legendary baddie’s voice. However it was Prowse’s head that viewers saw when Luke Skywalker removed Darth Vader’s helmet in the third and final movie, The Return of the Jedi.
Prowse’s other claim to fame within the U.K. was his role as the Green Cross Code oan, a superhero invented to promote a British road safety campaign for children in 1975.
