Well, her name is anyway. The always controversial and increasingly eccentric Courtney Love has announced that she no longer wants to be known by her stage name. Rather, she will be now be referred to as “Courtney Michelle” – something slightly closer to her birth name of Courtney Michelle Harrison.
The 45-year-old singer says, “Courtney Love is dead. We’ve all decided we don’t like her any more. We love her when she goes onstage, but I don’t need her in the rest of my life.” She continues, “Courtney Love is a way to oppress me.”
Sadly for Courtney, however, her decision to kill off the Love came too late for her record company, who just last week announced that her band Hole, “led by Courtney Love”, will soon be on tour to promote their new album, ‘Nobody’s Daughter’. Guess she’ll have to live in the shadow of Love for a little while longer.
